The Power of Daily...

I've made a decision...

Time to start trumpet lessons again.

I'm a big believer in figuring out and then focusing on doing that ONE thing that will act as the lead domino, setting everything else in motion.

Once we got Barron Marketing dialed in and processes in place, I started Barron Properties...missed the hustle of dealing with customers face to face and getting out from behind a computer.

Now that systems are being put in place to start scaling that business, it's time to work on myself LOL

For years, I started every morning playing the trumpet...

+ the warm up to get my chops vibrating

+ breath control

+ tongue action

+ drills and scales

+ finally some tunes

Music has always been something I really love.

And one of the reasons I want to take lessons again is to get my skills back to where they were with the goal of playing in a brass band here in Pittsburgh.

Nice goal in itself, but it's way more than that....

Consistent. Daily. Discipline.

It was/is the regimen of getting up...running through the warm-ups...playing.

Every freaking morning.

It was the ONE THING that got me in the head space where I needed to be...to be productive and hyper focused for the rest of the day.

One hour every morning.

Religiously.

Without fail.

No excuses.

Another habit we started this January has been our daily email...which you get.

Monday through Friday, rain or shine. Haven't missed one day.

Is it easy? Hell, no!

But Cheryl and I have made it a non-negotiable.

And baring my soul (I'm a pretty private guy) isn't quite as bad as I thought it would be lol

Because that one small daily habit of connecting with you created stronger relationships...which led to business growth.

And because if you miss one day, it's easier to miss the next. And soon, the habit is broken.

And you're back to being in a state of being stuck.

So what is that ONE THING for you that...

...makes everything else easier or unnecessary?

If you and I were to sit down over a cup of coffee together and have a discussion about your business, I can assure you we'd get to that question.

After hundreds of conversations, it always comes down to some version of the same question: "If you could do ONE THING to get your business moving faster and bringing in more income right now, what would that be?"

I'd wait. And when you talked, I'd listen. And then ask some more probing questions.

And the answer for most businesses 95% of the time is this:

Follow-up. As in pick up the damn phone and call your prospects.

And this is where many entrepreneurs complicate, confuse, and get stuck.

+ Time is spent deciding who to call.

+ Creating a spreadsheet with the phone numbers and best times to call.

+ Setting up a way to track and record the calls.

+ And oh my god...I need a way to manage my staff doing the calling.

And guess what? Overwhelm sets in. Guilt follows. Depression.

No!!! Stop.

To really get effective, just simply turn this into a daily action. Every single day, schedule a block of time to make calls — and do it.

It now becomes your #1 priority.

Don't try to make three calls a week, do it daily. Make it a daily habit and watch the momentum build.
