It's Monday...all day. And we're into the last quarter of 2018.
Depending on the industry you're in, you're most likely either bracing yourself for the upcoming make-it-or-break-it holiday season or you're looking at sales steadily dropping off.
Perfect time to consider a completely radical thought:
The less you like your circumstances today...
The better off you might actually be.
Whatever "fist" just punched you in the gut yesterday might be a blessing in disguise today.
Whatever straw just broke the proverbial camel's back might be the thing that triggers a seismic shift.
Doesn't make a whole lot of sense, does it?
Not now…but it will shortly.
It didn’t take long after I graduated from college to know that I loved sales…I mean I really loved it!
Selling came intuitively to me.
It didn’t matter whether it was “cash or trash” hard-selling on Wall Street’s trading floor.
Or closing mortgage loans by the bucket full during the real estate boons…I'd found my groove.
I had created a replicable lead gen system that kept adding leads to the top of the funnel.
And processes for my staff to qualify the leads before I ever had a conversation with them.
I was in my comfort zone. My loan officers were pulling in great commissions.
Life was good!
It was 2007 and real estate was imploding on itself.
Mortgage brokers became the red-headed stepchild almost overnight.
I watched my business literally die a slow and painful death.
Talk about being sucker-punched and pissed off!
I don’t know about you when faced with mind-numbing life stuff...
But "out of the frying pan and into the fire" felt way too close to home for comfort.
I thought; “I don’t know how I’m gonna turn this around, but I guess I’m about to figure it out.”
When your back is up against the wall, and you have bills to pay and mouths to feed -- you do whatever it takes.
Anybody can be great when you're sitting on top of the world.
...when you hit the winning shot.
...when those Rocky moments make you feel like you're ten feet tall and bullet proof.
But how are you when you're getting kicked in the teeth?
...when you have a shi**y day?
...when you're down and getting beaten to a pulp?
Those are the times when you learn the most.
And so for the next four years, Cheryl and I crammed our 50-year-old heads full of an ungodly amount of information, worked weekends putting it all into action.
Talk about a mid-life crisis 🙂
And SLOWLY but STEADILY over the years partnered with the right people and built a full-service marketing firm with a team currently of fourteen experts.

I don’t know what comfortable nest you’ve been shoved out of.
But I can guarantee that at some point, you’ve gotten kicked out of some nest somewhere.
Because if you're not failing, you're not trying...if you're not trying, you're not really alive.
Lean into the wind, brace yourself, howl...and throw yourself right into the eye of the tornado.
Be the rebel with a cause.
