shortest. email. ever

Sometimes less is more.

...not when it comes to golf, though. But I digress.

Sitting in McDonald's yesterday nursing a cup of coffee while on the road between appointments, I overheard the manager telling her employees:

"Whoever's your favorite person in the world, that's who you're waiting on today."

Takeaways...

1. Who the heck is that manager? I want to hire her. Today!

2. She's got the key to leadership dialed-in big time.

No holier-than-thou rants about yesterday's mess up's.

No handing out task lists that haven't changed since the last manager quit or maybe the manager before or...you get the idea.

Just a simple reminder that they 're all in the business of serving their customers well.

Mentally picture who that person is for you...

Your son or daughter? Your spouse? Your aging mom? Your uncle Bob?

A shorter email than usual...but hopefully a message that will stick with you through the the day as you take your next phone call or run your next meeting.

When the customer you're working with is a bit of a challenge...and your nerves are on edge.

Or when it feels like you're getting nothing done because your customers are an exceptionally needy bunch today.

Whoever's your favorite person in the world, that's who you're waiting on today.

'Nuff said. How can we help you?

Make it a good one!
