It's 79 degrees and sunny in Pittsburgh.
Hallelujah, winter is going, going...almost gone! For those of us who are nuts enough to live anywhere but the west coast, it's been a freaking long winter.
Actually I really do like the change of seasons - but enough freezing slop is quite enough for one year 🙂
And when the spring hits, it's time for weekend car detailing.
I'm kinda OCD about my cars. Ok, maybe more than kinda OCD. Lol
Even during the winter, it's rare that they don't get washed and cleaned out at least every two weeks.
The rest of the year, I hand-wash them on the weekends. Clean out the interiors. Vacuum and do the windows.
The whole shebang!
Cheryl on the other hand, cleaned her car out before she sold it a few months ago. It had been bought in 2003!
My mind can't comprehend that.
But now that she has a brand new car, she has decided that she'll groom her Golden Retriever herself to avoid trips to the groomer and all the hair in the car (l love Goldens and had two, but they shed hair even while breathing)...
And has a towel over the car mats to avoid cleaning them. haha
And the funny thing is that both our fathers religiously washed their cars every weekend...evidently it skipped a generation on her end.
But I'm like my dad. We gotta have clean cars.
And no surprise, you have to follow "the system" or it just ain't right.
+ Park your car in the shade.
+ Hose off the car to get ride of the worst dirt.
+ Wash the wheels first.
+ Wash and rinse the car section by section, starting at the top.
+ Wash the underside of the car.
+ Keep the car wet until you dry it.
No, I'm not for hire 🙂
The key is to not wait for 15 years to give it a good cleaning.
Done weekly, I can get a few cars done in an afternoon with some tunes on...and it's actually relaxing after running hard all week with the business.
If you're using a CRM like Infusionsoft to run your business, it's just like regular car cleanings...
You can choose to ignore some basic steps, but if you do...things start to get messy real quick.
+ Do you have contact records with no email addresses floating around?
+ Do you have records with no first names?
+ Do you have a ton of duplicate records?
+ Are your tags out of control? Redundant, outdated, no category assigned.
+ Are there products you no longer sell?
+ Are you running out of custom fields? Are there any that you no longer need?
+ Are there Tasks that haven't been completed? (I've seen apps where the tasks are 2 years old.)
+ Do your email templates need a thorough de-cluttering of old, unused ones?
