A Very Powerful Exercise

No funny stuff today.

I'm going to layout a scenario (totally unrealistic...but as things unfold, it'll make sense) and then I'll give you a directive.

Ready?

+ You only have one prospect - and the fate of your business depends on how you treat this one person.

+ You have NO restraints - unlimited budget, unlimited technology/plugins, unlimited man power.

+ Don't focus on the technical side of things.

Now, here's what I want you to do:

Design the most amazing experience you can think of for that ONE person... from lead optin to customer.

The entire customer journey.

Just forget about automation for now.

And instead...think about how you would interact with real humans.

I'm going to ask your four questions...

As you answer them, remember...people buy from people.

And your only rule: You have no restraints.

Let your mind and creativity go wild!

1) You've just got a new lead. How would you ideally follow up?

  • Does your email/text message feel natural/personal or does it feel robotic?
  • Do you sound like you would if you left a an actual voice mail?
  • Does it sound like you?
  • Are you bombarding them from all directions?

2) How would you extend your offer?

  • How can you convert a lead in a fun, engaging, creative way?
  • Does it feel too pushy? "Do ya wanna buy now?" "How 'bout now?" "Are you ready now?"

3) How would you welcome a new customer?

  • Remember no restraints. How can you make it as special as possible?
  • What can you do to wow them?
  • And not feel like they've been re-gifted?

4) How would you upsell?

  • So they they feel excited about the idea of receiving additional value from you.
  • Does the timing feel natural?

The power of ONE person.

Now take a look at your Wish List.

What can you do with automation to seem as personal as possible with the right tools?

...two-way text messaging can be super effective if done right. Otherwise, it's just another way to burn out your list.

What absolutely needs humans?

...automation is amazing - but the human element is becoming lost in the sea of automation.

What is/isn't realistic right now?

...if money or bandwidth is an issue, put it on the back burner until it's doable.

Which ideas can be fast-tracked to implementation?

Which are better put on the slow track for acting on later?

I know this was mostly a bunch of questions today.

But they're powerful and are worth a few minutes of thought in the middle of a busy day 🙂

Putting together a one-to-many flow while making each lead feel like they are the only one who matters is real marketing.

Not easy. Takes time. Worth the effort.

Or you can just let us do it.

I'll be back tomorrow 🙂
