Have you ever thought about how obsessively time-oriented we are?
Most of us live by our watches and calendars. Our phones are synced to our calendars. And our cars are synced to our phones.
Before Cheryl's dad passed away in November, his phone was his only real source of connection to his friends, employees, and out-of-town family.
In the last months of his battle with cancer, he wasn't able to go much beyond the couch and then a hospital bed in his home. But his iPhone was always within reach.
One day when all he got was a black screen on his phone, it was mission critical that someone help him figure out the issue.
Now you have to understand, John Coates and Cheryl's mom are not techy people by any stretch of the imagination. At his business, everyone else used computers...but not John.
He still recorded the monthly numbers on yellow legal pads - and his balance sheets were always accurate.
Truth be told...I'm a yellow legal pad guy, too. There's something to putting pen to paper.
Anyway, John had finally caved and got an iPhone. He learned to text, email, even shop on the Internet...oh, the stories!
...finally the darned black screen got the better of him. And out of utter frustration he asked if anyone there with him could please help...ending with these five words:
Isn't it the same for those of us who rely on technology in our businesses?
+ Your Internet goes out right before an important online meeting!
+ Your computer gets infected and critical time-sensitive documents can't be accessed.
+ Your phone battery dies while you're on the road and dependent on Google Maps to get to your next appointment.
Most of us are over-the-top dependent on technology...lots of thoughts on that but not for today.
If you're using a 3rd party scheduling system currently in your day to day process (or you're thinking of starting)...I want to invite you to a webinar that Cheryl is co-hosting with ScheduleOnce Wednesday, January 24th at 12pm EST.
(UPDATE: The registration date has passed - if we can access a replay, we will post it here.)
You'll definitely get some incredible ideas for using calendars and automation in your marketing...especially if you're already using a scheduling platform.
This webinar is specifically on how to use online scheduling for lead generation in the health and wellness industry - but I guarantee you'll pick up tips no matter what field you're in.
Register here to attend this January 24th webinar. It'll only last 30 minutes.
Hope to see you there!
