Grant Cardone.
Real estate mogul. Former drug addict, turned self-made multi/multi-millionaire.
Real deal or scam? Oh, he's real.
He's the guy who drives white-on-white Rolls Royces and Lambos.
The guy who travels in his own Gulfstream jet.
He's flashy, he's a showoff. He talks out of both sides of his mouth.
He shoots his "Grant Rant" YouTube videos from inside his private jets and exotic cars...while telling you that it's stupid to buy sh*t you don't need and can't afford.
More power to him. Anybody who's built an empire out of nothing but pure hard work and his street smarts has got my respect.
I listen to his advice on sales, real estate and investing - and he's no slouch.
Annoying but he's not lazy.
His NY bestseller If you're not First, you're Last resonates with my "Second Sucks" motto.
But here's the thing, though...
Grant's all about obsession.
10X-ing.
His 10X rule is to put in 10 times the effort than anybody else.
Working like a maniac.
Not a terrible message...and the same message Gary V preaches.
Quick digression...wouldn't it be interesting to put Grant C and Gary V in a room together? Let them chat it out ...and then bring in Trump 🙂
Back to 10x-ing...
Just not 34 times a day. Every day.
If you've got Grant's energy and intensity and mega goals...by all means, go for it.
...work more.
...sleep less.
...age 15 years in the next 5 years.
...lose whatever hair you have left.
...spend time with your family and friends when you can fit them in.
If the end is worth it, that's your call. No judgement here.
Me? No, thanks.
I'm just an average guy from Pittsburgh.
With average energy and only 24 hours a day.
Can't push my almost-60-year-old body like I used to without it pushing back.
I have no desire to buy a jet.
My custom designer suits haven't left my closet for years.
My mortgage is paid off - and I don't want another one.
I want to spend time hanging out with my family and dogs and actually be present...
...NOT filming it
...or Instagramming it
...or using it for marketing purposes.
As far as I can see, Cardone's motto is "more with more" - as in "to earn more, do more."
Make more cold calls.
Schedule more meetings.
Network on LinkedIn more.
Do more interviews.
Create more products.
Publish more blog posts, do more Facebook lives...blah, blah, blah.
If doing more, juggling more comes natural to you, that's ok.
Props to the Grant C's and Gary V's of the world.
I respect them...I just can't relate to them.
I'm all about efficiency and doing less to achieve more nowadays.
How about you?
If you're more like me and the hundreds of happy clients we've helped, we've really gotta talk.
And get you off that hamster wheel.
