A few years ago, I quit buying those pre-packaged prepared meals sold at Giant Eagle.
Made packing a lunch easy. And they were pretty darn tasty...
...but after a few months, my slacks started to not fit so well lol
Turns out they're packed with salt (which is probably why they tasted so good.)
So I switched to eating fish during the week and meat on the weekend...and dropped 20 lbs like that!
I guess the fancy term people who read stuff like Goop call this is "eating clean."
Whatever...I call it middle-aged spread diet 🙂
I actually think the secret to my success is alcohol.
Cheryl says I need to stop mentioning wine so much or people will think I'm an alcoholic.
I'm teasing, people!
Anyway, regarding the whole clean, organic natural lifestyle...
Food is one thing.
Natural deodorant? Really? That's a thing?
Apparently because Cheryl just bought some from Native...and I'm now a freaking fan!
But as a marketer!
If you look on their site at https://www.nativecos.com/, they currently have 5,705 reviews...and a collective 5-star rating!
Customers seem to think the product is a savior and often even evoke the Savior when talking about it.
You can find comments like “This is not deodorant, this is a Jesus-scented magic stick which is amazing!” and “Thank you, Jesus, for bringing this product to me.”
On the other hand, comments like “I tried it for a few days and ended up stinking” (a not uncommon experience with natural deodorant) are few and far between.
But what's even better is their "Cheryl, You Rock!" thank you email!
If you can't read the image above, I added the body of the email below:
It was just another mundane day at our office when suddenly, Jackie took a look at the computer
and her eyes widened. “We did it,” she exclaimed! “We got an order from Cheryl Hunt!”
Laura jumped out of her chair and ran to Jackie’s desk. She didn’t even read the entire email – she
just saw “Cheryl” and started screaming in delight! “O.M.G.” Laura shouted. “This is real! We have
an order from Cheryl!”
The entire office erupted in applause. “Party In the USA” blared from the speakers (Jackie’s a huge
Miley Cyrus fan) as confetti rained down from the ceiling and champagne bottles were popped.
The entire Native Team is thrilled you’re a customer! Thank you so much for your support and for
giving us a reason to cheer on another champion of health!
As soon as we’re done exchanging high-fives, we’ll send you tracking information so you can track
your package.
If you have any questions or concerns, please reach out to us at support@nativecos.com.
Now that's what I call fun, creative, engaging marketing!
Sometimes I think we all take so-called "marketing" way too seriously.
It's so easy to get distracted with whatever is shining brightest at the moment...
+ the latest software
+ the new "expert" on the block and whatever course their hawking
+ the next must-attend conference
+ the hot social media gadget of the month...ie. messenger bots
When all marketing is really about is connecting with people on a human level.
It's been our focus in every email we send, every product or service we offer, every conversation we have.
And it all starts with having an engaged list.
So much so that the Engagement Maximizer suite of campaigns is our most requested and purchased service.
