I was recently given the task by our team to shoot the videos for our newest product CyberFunnels...total failure. I stunk.
My suit shirt was sticking to my back...
Evidently I was talking too fast and waving my hands...
And supposedly rolling my eyes as the teleprompter script ordered me to say words I've never heard of.
Finally I stopped the video guys and shouted, "Who wrote this stuff!?!"
Our amazing copywriters wrote the script - but I was so bad that we had to hire a professional actor.
And guess what? Same script, killer results. The words flowed like buttah.
My point? Using videos in your marketing can be a double-edged sword. It's a fact that landing pages with top notch videos out-perform ones that don't use video at all.
But videos done poorly will kill the deal faster than if not there to begin with.
First, I'm assuming you are using landing pages in your marketing. And I'm going to assume that you are capturing your leads' contact information by offering them something of value for free.
And I'm going to assume that your offer is going to over-deliver on its promise to provide information that your target audience wants...not what you think they need.
So with that being said, when starting out...a video should be no longer than about 90 seconds.
And if you answer these four questions that your viewers are thinking in those 90 seconds...you'll have a video that I guarantee will increase conversions.
Introduce yourself briefly and let them know what you do. Make sure your USP (unique selling proposition) is crystal clear.
Talk about one pain or problem you know they have and how you're going to solve it for them via your lead magnet/free offer.
Explain exactly how to get your free offer. Literally direct them to enter their name and BEST email address in the form to your right (if the video is to the left of the form.)
Are they going to receive a confirmation email requiring them to click on a double optin link to ensure they receive communication from you? We recommend it...keeps tire-kickers at bay. If so, let them know exactly what to expect.
Sound simple? It is, but you'd be surprised at how little this is being done.
It's effective. I promise.
Seize the day!
